Review of an audio clip of Hugh Dancy reading some of the poem Annabel Lee by Edgar Allan Poe from the unfinished animated movie Poe

Let me tell you a little story…

I am extremely familiar with Hugh Dancy’s imdb page. In the middle of last year a new entry appeared on it that I had not seen before. It was an animated movie of the works of Edgar Allan Poe called ‘Poe’. I could not find out a single damn thing about this. After many weeks of fruitless googles I was on the point of giving up when I found it listed in the wikipedia page of all cultural works based on the work of Edgar Allan Poe. It turns out that the film was the personal project of Michael Sporn, an artist who had his own animation company and who died in 2014, before the movie was ever finished. Because of this, I cannot review the movie because it does not exist, but I can review the audio file of Hugh reading some of a poem that can be found on the movie’s website.

Listening to the disembodied voice of Hugh Dancy from the comfort of my iTunes library makes me feel like a stalker and a pervert. I do not enjoy the feeling. If you think that you would enjoy it, I would encourage you to listen for yourself. 5 stars.
